The Common Guild with Glasgow Film Theatre present 'Crossing the Line', a series of screenings that celebrate the crossover between visual art and cinema.
The films are selected by Corin Sworn, Duncan Campbell and Hayley Tompkins, the three artists participating in Scotland + Venice 2013, and chosen for their influence on the artists’ practice.
The 1989 documentary ‘Dust on the Bible’ is selected by Duncan Campbell. The film is a lyrical, visual poem about the pastors and preachers of Ulster. Focusing on Belfast’s charismatic street preachers the film traces the journey of a lonesome drifter seeking salvation in the gospel halls of this ‘troubled godforsaken place’.
